My process is based on the gradual accumulation of layers, allowing the surface to evolve through time rather than through a single gesture. Working with thin applications of paint, I build the composition through successive passages, creating depth, transparency, and subtle shifts in tone. Each layer responds to the one beneath it, generating a visual rhythm that mirrors the fluid and ever-changing qualities of nature.
Small intervals and controlled gaps are intentionally preserved throughout the surface, allowing light to move through the composition and creating effects reminiscent of reflections on water. Fine linear elements are introduced using a variety of tools, producing delicate traces that suggest movement, vibration, and the diffusion of light. These subtle marks activate the surface without dominating it, encouraging a slow and attentive viewing experience.
The dialogue between layered color, texture, line, and open space is central to the work. Through this process, the paintings seek to capture transient moments of reflection, luminosity, and stillness, transforming observed natural phenomena into an abstract visual language.
